About

Umbononje – Let Your Ideas Be Heard

Umbononje is a platform built on the belief that every voice matters. Guided by our slogan, “Let your ideas be heard,” we share close-to-raw thoughts and opinions gathered from social platforms and individuals across Africa. We also highlight readily available investment, business, and educational opportunities across the continent. We advise our readers that the information we share reflects our opinions or those of contributors and may not always represent verified facts. Where confirmed facts become available, we provide updates or follow-up posts. We operate in accordance with the terms and standards guided by Eswatini journalism and communications laws.

Our Newsroom

Umbononje is a publication about Africa and the wider world, run out of Eswatini. We cover the economies, trade deals, technology and everyday decisions that shape how people live and work across the continent, and we keep an eye on the global stories that reach us. Our aim is simple: take the noise down and put the useful thing in front of you, in plain language, fast.

We are not a wire service and we are not an opinion mill. Every piece starts from a source, a document, a report or a person on the record. Where we give a view, we label it as a view and show the reporting it stands on. When we get something wrong, we say so and fix it in the open. Our full standards live on the Editorial Guidelines page.

We also publish practical tips and free tools for the people building things on this continent: young businesses, students, and anyone tired of being told the opportunity is always somewhere else. If you have a story, a correction, or a tip, the contact page is open.
